In the beginning, the creation of a state-wide Florida organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of the Eastern Bluebird
was only an unhatched idea in the minds of a few people. Without the necessary funds required to create such an organization, the
Florida Bluebird Society would not have taken flight.
The Florida Bluebird Society is deeply indebted to those individuals who
also recognized the need to gather and share information about bluebirds in Florida and joined in underwriting the creation of the
Florida Bluebird Society by becoming Charter Members.
THANK YOU. Two little words, but because of you Charter Members, the bluebirds
in Florida will sing a sweeter song.

Alice M. Tyler 1928-2009
Alice Tyler, 81, died October 2,
2009. Alice will be remembered as a dedicated conservationist who supported many environmental organizations and state parks.
She built and maintained bluebird trails consisting of more than 30 nest boxes in Williston, Levy County. Her interest is indicated
by that fact that when discharged from the hospital in August 2009, her sister brought Alice directly to the organizational meeting
of the Florida Bluebird Society in Gainesville, without even taking her home first.
